Cantor Shana Onigman found her passion - and career - when she was asked as a teen to lead High Holiday services in her tiny congregation outside of Boston. She was able to combine her love of music, voice, and Judaism, and a Cantor was born!
After graduating from Bennington College, Cantor Onigman studied at the Jewish Theological Seminary for two years before transferring to Hebrew College in Newton, MA in 2004. She became its first Cantor-Education Program graduate. She also holds a Masters Degree in Jewish Education and a certificate in Jewish Special Education.
After serving as cantor at Temple Ohabei Shalom in Brookline, MA, Cantor Onigman joined CBI in July 2007. She resides in Morristown with her husband Matthew, and children Lila and Ilan.
