High Holidays Are Fast Approaching

Dear Congregants,

We trust you are having a wonderful summer, with an opportunity to relax and enjoy time with your family. Still, fall is fast approaching and with it the High Holy Days at Congregation B'nai Israel. We welcome you to share them with us. Please note that forms for High Holiday Tickets (2 pages), childcare registration, and a directory listing and ad form are available for you to print out and complete at the close of this letter.

For this fall the schedule is as follows:

Erev Rosh Hashanah (Wednesday, September 8th) 8:00PM followed by Oneg reception after services

Rosh Hashanah Day 1 (Thursday, September 9th)
Family Service: 8:30AM-9:00 AM for members, their children from infant through 1st grade, with full participation by our clergy.

Traditional Service 9:15AM-12:45 PM for members, their children from grades 6-12 and member-guests. Services for K- 3 will be held upstairs beginning at 10:30AM. Services for Grades 4-5 will be held downstairs in the community room beginning at 10:30AM. Tashlikh Services will be held immediately following the conclusion of services.

Rosh Hashanah Day 2 (Friday, September 10th) 9:15AM

Kol Nidre (Friday, September 17th) 6:15PM

Yom Kippur Day (Saturday, September 18th)
Family Service: 8:30AM-9:00AM for members, their children from infant through 1st grade, with full participation by our clergy.

Traditional Service 9:15AM-12:45PM for members, their children from grades 6-12 and member-guests. Services for K- 3 will be held upstairs beginning at 10:30AM. Services for Grades 4-5 will be held downstairs in the community room beginning at 10:30AM.

3:00PM-Study Session with the Rabbi
4:00PM-Reading of the Book of Jonah and Mincha Prayers
5:15PM-Glass Retreat Room - Remembrance Service & Dedication of new Memorial Plaques
5:45PM-Yiskor Memorial Service, open to the community
6:30PM-7:46 PM - Neilah, "The Closing Of The Gates" followed by Break-the-Fast.
